Conservative commentator Candace Owens said on election night that she’ll be joining the Daily Wire.
The announcement came as co-founder Jeremy Boreing hosted the conservative outlet’s election special with editor emeritus Ben Shapiro and hosts Andrew Klavan and Michael Knowles. The crew declined to give details but excitedly declared it had special plans in store in the future.
“I think what you’re doing is so important, and the only thing that would make it cooler is if you did it with us. Do you wanna just come join?” Boreing asked.
“I think 100% I will take you up on that offer,” Owens responded, who then earned a unanimous approval vote from the hosts to join the outlet. “Candace Owens is coming to Nashville, baby!”
Owens, a vocal supporter of President Trump and critic of Black Lives Matter, was the communications director for the conservative Turning Point USA group from 2017 to 2019.
Last month, the Daily Wire announced it was taking its operations from Los Angeles to Nashville, Tennessee. Boreing said the move was because of the declining quality of life in the California city.
