Obamacare enrollment kept pace for the third week, with about 567,822 people signing up, bringing the total enrollees to 1.6 million.

For the third week in a row, the majority of enrollees were consumers renewing their coverage, according to data released Wednesday by the Obama administration. The data is from signups for healthcare.gov, which residents in more than 35 states use to sign up for Obamacare.

About 36 percent of the enrollees were new consumers and 64 percent were renewals. Those percentages are roughly in line with the previous two weeks.

The administration has set a modest goal of 10 million enrollees to pay for coverage by the end of 2016. That is a little more than the number of current enrollees who paid their Obamacare premiums.

The administration announced in September that as of June 30, there were 9.9 million enrollees who have paid their premiums.

Open enrollment ends Jan. 31.
