Kris Jenner smacks President Obama for picking on Kim Kardashian, Kanye West

Keeping up with the Kardashians” matriarch Kris Jenner really did not like what President Obama had to say about Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend, rapper Kanye West.

On Friday, during a segment on Jenner’s new talk show “Kris,” she explained the president’s remarks and offered a steamy rebuttal.

“So the president of the United States, President Obama, was giving an interview with Amazon’s Kindle and criticized my daughter and Kanye,” Jenner began. “And the president basically said, they’re influencing a generation of youngsters to be obsessed with wealth and celebrity.”

President Obama had sat down for an Amazon Singles Interview with journalist David Blum as part of last month’s trip to an Amazon.com fulfilment center in Chattanooga, Tenn. Obama brought up the celebrity couple when discussing the American Dream, explaining it used to stand for “basic stuff” like a home or a job, but now–thanks to pop culture–people are striving for a “fancier jet or a bigger yacht.”

“Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success,” the president explained.

Jenner said she also strove for the basic stuff when she was growing up. “But I wasn’t aware that you could only set the bar so high and that we could only dream so big,” she responded. “I was taught: Dream big, work hard and you could have whatever you wanted.”

The talk show host pointed out that the president had no problem with Hollywood filling up his campaign coffers. “And another thing I thought was, wow, I bet the president has some friends with 10,000-square-foot houses and you probably wouldn’t mind going over there, Mr. President, while you were asking them to have a party for you when you were campaigning for dollars to run for president,” Jenner said.

Jenner also fact-checked the president’s statement. “Kanye West…doesn’t go on vacation–ever,” Jenner pointed out. “And Kim Kardashian is the hardest-working young lady in the world.”

Finally, Jenner pointed out that she and her family, because of their reality show success, are job creators. “And it just dawned on me after reading that story that we employ and give jobs to hundreds and hundreds of people just on ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ alone and I think that’s a wonderful thing,” she said.
