Secretary of State Rex Tillerson scolded the Turkish ambassador this week after security guards wounded protesters outside Turkey’s embassy in Washington.
“We called the Turkish ambassador into State Department to say this is unacceptable,” Tillerson said on “Fox News Sunday.”
The confrontation occurred soon after President Trump met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan last week in Washington.

Video of the event showed Turkish security disobeying D.C. police who were trying to break up the attack, which sent a number of protesters to the hospital. Lawmakers on the Hill had called for the administration to issue a formal rebuke, and there were even calls for the Turkish ambassador to be ordered to go home.
