A German nudist is hogging the limelight after he was photographed chasing a wild boar that had stolen a bag with his laptop.
Adele Landauer, an actress and life coach, snapped the photos at Berlin’s Teufelssee, known as Devil’s Lake, on Thursday and shared them on social media. Landauer said the man was fine with her publishing photos of the fiasco, which began when a sow grabbed his yellow bag containing his laptop and began running. The bare-bottomed runner was eventually able to recover the stolen goods.
“Because the bag contained his laptop, he gave it his all, even though he was in his birthday suit,” Landauer told the Guardian.
The man was reportedly able to retrieve the laptop by clapping his hands and hitting a stick on the ground, spooking the swine into relenting. Witnesses of the caper were photographed squealing with laughter during the chase.
“Everyone of us adored him how focused he stayed and when he came back with his yellow bag in the hand we all clapped and congratulated him for his success,” Landauer said in a Friday Instagram post.
Derek Ehlert, Berlin’s ombudsman for wild animals, said that wild boar sightings have become more common recently. He also noted that there have been foxes spotted at Berlin’s lakes.
“We urge people not to panic in such a case,” Ehlert said. “We have so far had no injuries — the animals are quite used to humans.”
