Museum marks Emancipation Proclamation anniversary

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Historical Museum is holding an event to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first reading of the Emancipation Proclamation in the city.

The Detroit Historical Society’s Black Historic Sites Committee is holding the hour-long program twice on Sunday afternoon.
