President Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, released audio recordings that appear to feature the president’s sister Maryanne Trump Barry unloading on her family members.
In the recordings that were released late on Friday, Trump Barry can be heard discussing comedian Samantha Bee with Mary Trump. Bee generated headlines in 2018 when she referred to Ivanka Trump as a “feckless c—” after the president’s daughter posted a photo of herself and one of her children embracing.
“When that damn Ivanka puts this picture of the Madonna and Child on Instagram when the big news of the day was how children are getting ripped away from their parents, I couldn’t blame — I’d never heard of Samantha Bee, but I couldn’t blame what she said,” Trump Barry said.
Trump’s sister also apparently compared Ivanka to her father, tore into Eric Trump, who heads the Trump Foundation, and said that the president shares similar attributes to his own father.
“Eric’s become the moron publicly. […] [Ivanka] is a mini-Donald, but he’s besotted with her. He always has been. She’s always been his favorite,” she said.
“Anything he did, he says, ‘Look what I’ve done! Aren’t I wonderful!’, and he’s as tight as a duck’s ass. Just like Dad was, really,” she said of the commander-in-chief.
The recording comes days after audio was first released of Trump Barry criticizing her brother as having “no principles” and always “lying.”
“All he wants to do is appeal to his base,” Trump Barry is heard saying. “He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this.”
The Washington Examiner reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
