Foundation Coal Holdings, a major coal-industry player from Linthicum Heights, announced a drop in net income of 21 percent for the first quarter of 2007.
Compared with the first quarter of 2006 when Foundation reported a net income of $31.3 million, the company experienced a $6.7 million drop to $24.6 million during the same quarter this year. Despite that loss, Foundation did indicate that its total sales decreased 0.4 percent for the first quarter, finishing at $386.2 million.
