More than half of Americans have a favorable opinion of first lady Melania Trump, with men having a decidedly better view of her than women.
According to a new CNN poll, 52 percent of Americans have a favorable view of the first lady, up from 36 percent before her husband’s inauguration as president. About 32 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of Trump.
Men have a more favorable view of Trump than women do, with 58 percent saying they view her favorably as compared to 46 percent of women. Former first lady Michelle Obama was viewed more favorably by women than men and former first lady Laura Bush was split more evenly.
Party affiliation was a huge indicator of Trump’s popularity. According to the poll, 86 percent of Republicans view Trump favorably while 22 percent of Democrats feel the same.
