‘I know what it feels like’: Brit Hume says he experiences ‘traces’ of senility like Joe Biden

Fox News pundit Brit Hume said he believed 2020 Democrat Joe Biden was “getting senile” from personal experience.

“He’s begun to forget things … suggesting that he, like so many people his age, is losing his memory and is getting senile. I don’t think there is any doubt about it,” Hume said Tuesday on Tucker Carlson Tonight. “I have traces of this myself. I know what it feels like. Sometimes you get confused, and sometimes you can’t remember what you’re supposed to do the next morning.”

Hume was reacting to a video of Biden snapping at an autoworker in Detroit earlier in the day after the man confronted him over his views on gun control. The employee suggested the presidential candidate was trying to repeal the right to bear arms.

“You’re full of shit,” Biden told the man. “I support the Second Amendment.”

The Biden campaign later argued the incident in Detroit proved he’s the kind of fiery candidate Democrats need this fall to defeat President Trump, but it wasn’t the first time he has turned heads on the campaign trail.

In addition to snapping at voters, the former vice president has made several misstatements or embellishments over the course of his campaign. He mistakenly said his late son Beau Biden was the attorney general of the United States and incorrectly stated he is running for U.S. Senate instead of the White House. After big wins on Super Tuesday, Biden mistook his wife for his sister before giving a victory speech.

“At the moment, they are so eager to deny Bernie Sanders the nomination and to press forward with someone more familiar that I think this step is, is lost on Democratic voters,” Hume said. “But over time, under the pressures of a campaign, who knows what will happen.”

Biden picked up key wins during primaries in Michigan and Missouri this week and is seen as the front-runner for the party’s nomination ahead of the Democratic National Convention.
