Russian President Vladimir Putin received an unusual belated birthday gift from his counterpart in Turkmenistan.
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov gifted Putin a top breed dog on Wednesday. Putin celebrated his 65th birthday on Oct. 7.
“We have a common friend — this is the world’s unique alabai dog. And today I brought this little alabai with me,” Berdymukhamedov told Putin, according to Reuters.
Berdymukhamedov pulled the puppy out of its crate and held it up by its scruff to show Putin.
Putin then took the dog and kissed it on his head.
