Spencer Pratt wants D.C. ‘like a stalker’

Could Spencer Pratt be America’s next top bureaucrat?

The former star of MTV’s “The Hills” has been Tweeting like mad about all things Washington — the State Department, the military and area security firms — and he tells Yeas & Nays exclusively he’s serious about serving his country.

“If they hit me with the Jack Bauer quote, I’d be living next to Obama, down the hall, if he’d let me,” he said in a phone interview Monday.

Pratt said a jump from reality TV into the real world shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone –he studied political science, after all — but he was hoping to make it big in TV. Instead he got fired.

“They kicked me off ‘The Hills’ because they say I’m too angry, but really I was just angry that I was doing nothing on ‘The Hills’ and doing nothing to contribute to our free and open society of America,” he explained.

To jump-start his career, Pratt recently took a cyber-security gig at California-based American Defense Enterprises, and he said he hopes to expand that, which could possibly bring him to Washington.

“My friends had medical marijuana issues, so I was always worried about secondhand smoke, so I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m never going to be the director of the CIA,’ but now I hear they recently changed that policy, and I think that they may have done that just so people like me who had friends in high places could still fit into the politics of the intelligence community,” Pratt said, laughing.

Although he’s still interested in the entertainment industry, Pratt said he placed calls to the National Security Agency and the Arlington-based Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency about a TV show he wants to start called “Cyber Spies,” which he envisions to be a more realistic version of Fox’s “24.”

“I was the biggest fan of ’24’ but there was such fakeness; I don’t believe any American agent would chop off anybody’s head,” he said. “Waterboarding would do the trick.”

But fellow bureaucrats, don’t expect to see the “Hills” star sitting in the next cubicle over anytime soon.

Now that their “Hills” contract is up, “Speidi” (for those not fluent in Hollywood gossip — that’s Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag) first will move to Costa Rica while Pratt will continue to read “hundreds of books” on national security.

Though that doesn’t mean he’s not already putting out feelers.

“I definitely am reaching out,” he said. “Like a stalker.”
