Pedestrian killed by car in Rockville

A 28-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car in Rockville.

Xiuwen Wang, of Rockville, was in a southbound lane of Rockville Pike near Edmonston Drive when she was hit by a 2005 Acura at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Montgomery County police said. The driver, Mark Vige, of Bethesda, remained at the scene.

Wang died from her injuries at about 12:15 a.m. Friday.

Capt. Paul Starks, a Montgomery County police spokesman, said no charges have been filed against Vige and police are still investigating the crash.

Fairfax death ruled homicide

Police are investigating the death of a 61-year-old Fairfax Station man and are looking for his vehicle.

Young S. Yun, of the 5700 block of Ladues End Court, was found dead from trauma to his upper body in his home Thursday. Fairfax County police said Friday they are investigating his death as a homicide.

His sport utility vehicle, a gold 2002 Lexus 470 with the Virginia license plate XYW-8197, was missing from the home.

D.C. man gets 45 years for sex assault

A 27-year-old District man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for an armed sexual assault and kidnapping that occurred in May 2006.

Ronnie Legette Jr. was convicted by a D.C. Superior Court jury in August of kidnapping a 20-year-old transgender woman at gunpoint from a bus stop on Benning Road Northeast.

He then raped her multiple times in the basement of an abandoned house and robbed her of her cell phone and money.

Legette was linked to the crime through DNA, authorities said.
