Donald Trump turned a lighting problem at a Sunday rally into another reason to whip up the crowd, by saying it was actually much better without the hot stage lights on, and encouraging people to chant “turn off the lights!”
“They didn’t pay the electric bill,” Trump said when the lights went down. Then seconds later, he decided it was better that way.
“Oh, I like that much better!” he said. “Oh, that’s so much better. Those lights were brutal.”
When the lights came back on, the chanting started. “Turn off the lights! Turn off the lights!”
