A Prince William County high school instructor and coach has been arrested for alleged inappropriate communications with a female student.
Prince William County police said 28-year-old Richard Teller, a long-term substitute teacher and head baseball coach at Brentsville High School, engaged in inappropriate communications with a 17-year-old girl who attended the school.
The communications were by phone, said Officer Jonathan Perok, a police spokesman. Police would not further describe the messages.
No physical interactions took place between the two, authorities said. Police said the inappropriate contact began in February, though school officials only recently learned about it and notified police.
Teller was arrested Tuesday and is charged with indecent liberities with a minor and use of a communication system to facilitate offenses with a minor.
