After National Journal and Time magazine released bogus polls on the Occupy Wall Street movement last week, someone finally asked a simple basic question. CNN released a poll this morning that asked:
What is your view of the movement known as “Occupy Wall Street?” Would you say you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the Occupy Wall Street movement, or have you never heard of it?
Only 32% of respondents said they had a favorable opinion of the movement. Most Americans have either never heard of the movement (26%) or have no opinion of it (13%). Almost as many disapprove of the movement (29%), as support it.
These results seem much closer to reality than the Time and NJ polls. When I travel outside of the Washington metropolitan area, I hardly ever hear about the Occupy Movement, and when I do it is mostly from family asking, “What are they protesting anyway?”
