Rudy Giuliani tore into billionaire philanthropist George Soros on Twitter Christmas evening, saying Soros had funded groups whose goal is to “destroy the Jewish homeland.”
“Soros has funded many enemies to the State of Israel, including groups that support BDS, who’s ultimate goal is to destroy the Jewish homeland,” said the former mayor of New York. “Those who oppose these groups are not only better Jews, but better people than him. Most certainly not anti-Semitic.”
The boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement is an anti-Israel campaign that promotes the demonetization and delimitation of Israel.
This is the second time in a week that Giuliani, 75, has lashed out at Soros, 89. On Monday, Giuliani said he is “more of a Jew” than him and that Soros was “an enemy of Israel.”
Soros is a survivor of the Holocaust who has been criticized for his political funding operations in the United States. On Christmas Eve, Soros’s Open Society Foundations hit back at Giuliani, saying that President Trump’s personal attorney was spreading a “toxic campaign of misinformation.”
Soros, a critic of the president, gave $1 million to firms that funded Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that launched British ex-spy Christoper Steele’s dossier on Trump.
The hashtag #RudyIsAnAntisemite was trending in response to the latest round of tweets.
