D.C. United faces an extended period without versatile rookie Lance Rozeboom, who suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during training on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Rozeboom, 22, was selected in the second round of the MLS supplemental draft out of New Mexico and had played multiple positions and roles for D.C. United during preseason.
He’s scheduled to undergo surgery on April 5.
The loss for United comes one week after second-year defender Ethan White also had minor surgery on his right knee. He is expected to miss six weeks.
The team remains without Kurt Morsink, who had foot surgery in early February and was expected to miss four to six weeks, and defender Dejan Jakovic is listed as questionable with a groin strain for tonight’s match at Vancouver, an injury that forced him to depart at halftime of last week’s 3-1 loss at Los Angeles.
