Shock jock invite
Radio shock jocks Opie & Anthony announced last week that anyone with a valid military ID would be admitted to the remaining stops on their “Traveling Virus” comedy tour at no charge. The pair stops at Nissan Pavilion on Aug. 18, with guests Bob Saget, Carlos Mencia and Louis CK, among others. Opie & Anthony invited the entire Devens Reserve Forces Training Area staff to its show in Mansfield, Mass., on the weekend.
Co-host Anthony Cumia said, “These guys are going to be busting their [butts] all summer, and we just want them to take a little break and have a bunch of laughs.”
It’s the latest of many entertainment options for troops in town this summer. Just last week, active service members and veterans were honored at Wolf Trap with a barbecue dinner, reception and performance by the Vince Gill Friends & Family Tour with Amy Grant and The Del McCoury Band.
