Spotify launches election-related ‘Moving to Canada?’ ads

Music streaming service Spotify launched ads this week aimed at Americans considering moving to Canada following an undesired outcome to the 2016 presidential election.

Spotify, a Swedish company with headquarters in Stockholm and London, rolled out the ads to a large portion of its total 75 million worldwide users.

Some of the messages were aimed at anti-Trump individuals while others focused on anti-Clinton voters.

While the company has not endorsed any of the Democratic or Republican candidates in the U.S. election, it said the project was meant to recruit new listeners to its Canadian artists.

In such a political year, it’s no surprise that there’s money to be made from playing to the Bronx cheers.
