Liberal talk show host and vehement gun control advocate Piers Morgan has a solution to mass shootings in America: prevent people under the age of 25 from owning guns.
The Brit tweeted out his suggestion on Monday, pointing out that the shooter at the mall in Maryland on Saturday was 19 years old and that many other mass shooters are also young. He added that it should be just as difficult to buy a gun for those under 25 as it is to rent a car.
The 19yr-old mall shooter in Maryland was not legally allowed to buy an alcoholic drink until 21. But was able to legally buy a shotgun.

Given the young ages of most mass/random shooters in America, I’d make it illegal for anyone under 25 to buy a gun of any kind.

It’s almost impossible to rent a car under the age of 25 in America – why not regulate guns the same way? Just common sense.

Twitter users immediately countered that using a rental car is not a right and corrected his flawed analogy, since those under the age of 25 can still rent a car, but have to pay an additional fee per day. Morgan responded by criticizing the Second Amendment.
And there, right there, is the absurdity of the 2nd Amendment laid bare > RT @redsteeze .@piersmorgan Car rental is not a right, Musket.

Aside from thinking the Second Amendment is ‘absurd,’ Morgan had also previously argued that it was “clumsily worded” and said there should be a debate in order to “rephrase it.”
