After the first 2012 presidential debate the Obama campaign and its allies came up with some very bizarre excuses for President Barack Obama’s terrible debate performance.
And if the last two debate performances from Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are any indication of what to expect during tonight’s debate, the President is going to need all the excuses he can get.
In the spirit of “Saturday Night Live,” Red Alert has pre-butted tonight’s debate with with five excuses for Obama’s bad debate performance tonight:
5. Obama took the pundits a little too seriously
In the case that Obama has a Chris Matthewsesque meltdown during the debate like Biden did last week, we’ll know he took Matthews’ advice to watch more MSNBC to heart.
4. The location threw him off.
Obama’s not used to being in New York unless it’s to fundraise with hip-hop icons like Jay-Z and Beyonce or to appear on talk shows like “The View” or “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
3. He was distracted by Mitt Romney’s hair
Could you focus if you had to look at Mitt Romney’s perfectly combed follicles for 90 minutes? I mean, really.
2. The Clinton Factor
Obama was too busy brainstorming ways to throw Hillary Clinton under the bus over the Libya attack to fully listen to questions from the audience.

Whoever poisoned Joe Biden’s holding room last week with laughing gas has struck again! Somebody call Batman!
