Former FBI Director James Comey will be a guest on Fox News Sunday after he claimed earlier this week that Fox & Friends had canceled his appearance on the show.
Comey will join host Chris Wallace on Sunday to discuss the findings of the report from Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz. Horowitz released his report following his investigation into the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant issued against Carter Page that kicked off the theory that Trump had colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
Horowitz found 17 examples of the FBI failing to follow bureau policy while getting the warrant against Page but said there was no overarching bias against the president in the agency.
Comey took those findings to be an exoneration. He tweeted that he had been invited to speak on Fox & Friends but said the show canceled his visit after reading the report.
“FYI: I offered to go on Fox & Friends to answer all questions. I can’t change their viewers on Donald Trump but hoped to give them some actual facts about the FBI. They booked me for tomorrow at 8 am,” he tweeted. “They just canceled. Must have read the report.”

A Fox News representative denied Comey’s claim, telling the Washington Examiner, “James Comey was not booked and was never confirmed to appear on Fox & Friends.”
That didn’t stop Comey from repeating his allegations against Fox News later that evening on MSNBC. Comey told host Nicolle Wallace, “I offered to go on Fox & Friends, which I gather is a very important program for supporters of the president. They agreed last night to book me at 8 tomorrow.”
He continued, “I figured I can’t change the minds of Fox viewers about President Trump, but I can give their minds, I hope, about the FBI by giving them actual facts. And after the report came out, they canceled my appearance. They must’ve read the report.”
Several Fox News anchors, including Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, invited Comey to appear on their shows via Twitter, but he did not respond.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff will also be interviewed in the same hour as Comey’s Sunday morning appearance.
