House Dems reinvigorated after Warren crashes the party with Dunkin’ Donuts

House Democrats entered the ninth hour of a floor sit-in demonstration with renewed vigor after Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., saved the day with sugary refreshments.

Warren, who participated in the Senate Democrats’ gun control filibuster last week, left her post by 60 Democrats to make a night run to Dunkin’ Donuts Wednesday.

She returned to the lower chamber with dozens of doughnuts for her colleagues.

Democrats launched a sit-in demonstration at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday after four amendments to strengthen gun control laws failed in the House earlier this week. House Democrats have called for House Speaker Paul Ryan to call a vote on gun control legislation.
