Ebbin officially jumps into race for Va. Senate

Alexandria Del. Adam Ebbin officially took the plunge Tuesday, announcing that he is running for the seat of retiring Virginia state Sen. Patsy Ticer, D-Alexandria.

“In these difficult times, our community needs an effective, progressive voice in Richmond, one who knows the legislative process and who will be ready to hit the ground running on day one,” Ebbin said.

The 22-year Alexandria resident has served in the House of Delegates since 2004, and plans to host a campaign kick-off on March 20. He joins Arlington school board chairwoman Libby Garvey, who recently won Ticer’s endorsement, and Alexandria councilman Rob Krupicka as others vying for the Democratic nomination.
