Cops hunt Fantasies robbery suspect

It was wild, strip-club shootout that left one would-be robber dead and another wounded ? after two off-duty Baltimore Police Officers opened fire. But Baltimore police say they have been unable to apprehend a third man, David Robinson, 34, the alleged get-away driver in the attempted robbery of Fantasies Night Club on April 5.

Police describe Robinson as about 5-foot-8 and weighing about 165 pounds. They say he may be driving a black or dark gray four-door Audi with Maryland Tags 2CFR05.

Police said Robinson is believed to have since committed other armed robberies and is to be considered “armed and extremely dangerous.”

About 2 a.m. on April 5, two men armed with a shotgun and a semi-automatic handgun entered Fantasies Night Club at 5520 Pennington Ave. ? an all-nude adult club — and one fired a shot in the air before announcing a robbery, police said.

Two officers, who had finished a shift at midnight and were visiting the club as patrons in plainclothes, returned fire with their service weapons, according to police. One gunman was pronounced dead on the scene, while the other was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with gunshot wounds to the hand and arm. The injured gunman had been wearing body armor, police said.

It was the second time in 2007 that Baltimore police have shot and killed someone.

Detectives ask anyone with knowledge of Robinson?s whereabouts to call 443-829-6109.
