Former New York Gov. George Pataki endorsed musician Kid Rock’s potential campaign to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow in Michigan next year.
“Kid Rock is exactly the kind of candidate the GOP needs right now. #KidRockForSenate @KidRock,” Pataki, a GOP candidate in the 2016 presidential election, tweeted Tuesday morning.

The Senate Leadership Fund has also expressed interest in helping Kid Rock, whose full name is Robert James Ritchie.
A Kid Rock for Senate website was launched in mid-July and he confirmed the site was real, but has not confirmed whether he actually intends to run for public office.
The rocker, rapper and country star has not filed documents with the Federal Election Commission.
