John Kerry to visit Saudi Arabia, Paris this week

Secretary of State John Kerry will be in Saudi Arabia later this week to discuss ongoing unrest in the country.

Kerry, who is currently in Kenya, will head to Djibouti before traveling to Riyadh on Wednesday to meet with the government to discuss regional security – specifically, Yemen. After those talks, he will then head to Paris.

In Paris, Kerry will participate in Victory Day commemorations and meet with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

Talks in both countries are set to focus around not just regional security, but the upcoming June 30 nuclear deal deadline with Iran.

According to State Department Spokeswoman Marie Harf, Kerry will officially meet “with foreign ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to discuss shared regional priorities and security cooperation.”
