The U.S. economy grew by an annual rate of 3.5 percent in the third quarter of 2016, according to new data from the Commerce Department.
That’s a bit higher than the 3.2 percent growth that the department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis estimated last month.
It’s the first time quarterly growth has exceeded 3 percent since the middle of 2014.
The economy grew just 1.4 percent in the second quarter, and by less than 1 percent in the first quarter.
