A catalog for conservative courses

Limbaugh 101

Conservatives love to argue that America’s college professors are overwhelmingly liberal. So it’s hard to imagine what a conservative course would look like, say, if Rush Limbaugh were your professor.

With that in mind, the liberal Center for American Progress is asking college students to write course descriptions for its “Conservative Course Catalog.”

Some class examples given by CAP: “Ann Coulter’s Diplomacy,” “Newt Gingrich’s Defense of Marriage,” “Lewis Libby’s How to Shape Press Coverage” and “Larry Craig’s Airport Restroom Etiquette.”

One entry in the catalog — “Political Science 312: Military Operations and Winning the Peace” — is “taught” by former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld: “In this advanced seminar, students will learn that the best way to take the fight to the enemy is to attack a country that didn’t attack you, send in forces you didn’t properly equip, and seek to occupy a country of 27 million people with 130,000 troops and no plans whatsoever. Goodnessgracious, me oh my!”

The winning entry receives a $250 gift certificate for textbooks.
