Debate: Carson invokes dead staffer to respond to Cruz’s ‘deceitful’ tactics

At the debate hosted by ABC in New Hampshire Saturday night, Senator Ted Cruz apologized to Ben Carson for his campaign telling voters that Carson planned to drop out after Iowa.

But, Ben Carson did not think that apology was enough.

In his response to Cruz, Carson made it clear that there was no way he was going to drop out, in part because so many worked hard for him in Iowa. Carson pointed out that one man, 25-year-old Braden Joplin, “even died” in an automobile accident while campaigning for Carson.

Carson said Cruz’s campaign tactics were an “insult” to the “hundreds and maybe thousands” of people who worked for him.
