Trump blasts ‘political correctness’ for horse’s loss at Kentucky Derby

After the controversial decision to not allow the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby to claim the win, President Trump weighed in and claimed that the decision rested on political correctness.

“The Kentucky Derby decision was not a good one. It was a rough and tumble race on a wet and sloppy track, actually, a beautiful thing to watch. Only in these days of political correctness could such an overturn occur. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby – not even close!” He tweeted after the race.

The initial winner, Maximum Security, was disqualified for interfering with other horses during the final turn, and in an unprecedented series of events was denied the victory.

The Kentucky Derby is one of the most well-known sporting events in America, and the decision to deny Maximum Security the victory has been controversial since it was announced Saturday.

This was the first disqualification in the event’s 145-year long history. Country House officially won the horse race.
