President Trump announced Saturday evening that he allowed White House counsel Don McGahn to “fully cooperate” with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election.
“I allowed White House Counsel Don McGahn, and all other requested members of the White House Staff, to fully cooperate with the Special Councel,” wrote Trump. “In addition we readily gave over one million pages of documents. Most transparent in history. No Collusion, No Obstruction. Witch Hunt!”

The tweet comes following a New York Times report Saturday that reveals information about McGahn’s three voluntary interviews — 30 hours’ worth — with Mueller’s team, an investigation he has repeatedly termed a “witch hunt.”
McGahn reportedly shared an unusual level of detail about how the president responded to the investigation and other events, such as the firing of FBI director James Comey. The report claims those interviews were the result of a decision by Trump’s first legal team to cooperate in the hopes of quickly ending the probe.
