The View host asks Maddow if she’s ‘part of the problem’ in repeated ‘cry wolf’ against Trump

The View’s Abby Huntsman asked MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow if she is “a part of the problem” with Democrats and certain media members who “cry wolf” against President Trump.

The topic arose while they were discussing House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff’s comments about Trump and the impeachment inquiry. They specifically discussed Schiff’s decision to read a fake copy of the president’s controversial conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire’s testimony in front of his committee last week.

“My frustration is that there has been a cry wolf for so long. This is it, this is the smoking gun. He’s out for two years now from Democrats, from some members of the media, that now you have people in this country that are, like, we don’t believe anything anymore. They’re shutting it off. They are not taking it as seriously as they should, and I ask you, do you think you’re part of that problem? Do you think that you have, —” Huntsman asked.

“Rachel?” Joy Behar interjected.

“I think it’s a very good point,” Maddow answered. “It’s a consequence of having a really scandal-ridden presidency with all sorts of stuff happening all the time, that in any other presidency, would have already led to impeachment.”

She went on to bring up Trump’s remarks from before the show in which he urged both the Ukrainian and Chinese governments to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
