Polls: Obama White House incompetent at managing, worse than Darth Vader

The job of the administrative branch is to, well, administer the laws. According to a new Fox News poll released on Wednesday, most Americans think that the Obama administration is failing dismally at the task.

The poll found a 58 percent majority said that the White House has not been competent in managing the federal government. Some 84 percent of Republicans, 67 percent of independents and 32 percent of Democrats held that view. Barack Obama personally fared slightly better. Forty-two percent of voters approved of his overall job performance as president, with 52 percent disapproving.

This is a one-point bump from his numbers last week.

Whatever bump the president may have received of late, he still lags many presumptive 2016 candidates, and a few fictional characters. On Tuesday, the website FiveThirtyEight released the results of its informal poll of Americans’ opinions on Star Wars characters — and Congress. The poll ranked net favorability for the various figures.

The poll found that while Americans love to hate the Gungan, Jar Jar Binks, his popularity (-8) is still far higher than Congress’ (-65), while Luke Skywalker and Han Solo were runaway favorites with favorability ratings north of 90 percent. Even Darth Vader was liked by 58 percent of those polled.

Which makes American politicians seem all the worse. Darth Vader beat out Hilary Clinton, Sen. Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee. Emperor Palpatine was more well liked than pretty much any other presumed presidential candidate you could name: Paul Ryan, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren … and the list goes on.

Is it time to join the Empire?
