SCOTT, La. (AP) — The City Council has approved annexation of an 11.9-acre tract to be used for construction of a Pipeline Environmental Compression Industries facility.
Mayor Purvis Morrison tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/18aJ9B0 ) the move represents a growth opportunity for the Lafayette Parish city.
Morrison said the building alone could bring in $500,000 of tax revenue to the city from materials used in the construction and new jobs it creates.
