Call it a guilty pleasure, we suppose. But does it feel bad to ANYONE that the French World Cup soccer team is imploding? Not to us, either.
And maybe we should have seen this coming in the first match when Thierry Henry pleaded to no avail for a handball call in the box. Dude, did you forget your admitted handball in a win over the Republic of Ireland in November, denying the Irish a spot in the World Cup?

But the French have been beset by problems all throughout these games. Their coach, Raymond Domenech, has drawn heavy criticism for his strategies and management style. They sent home one of their forwards for getting into an argument at halftime. Their team director and their fitness coach both have resigned (the latter after an argument with Domenech). The team then refused to practice.
Oh, and the French are 0-1-1 in the tournament. Sorry, but for some reason we just don’t feel bad.
