Son of Marion Barry arrested on PCP charge

The son of D.C. councilman and former Mayor Marion Barry has been charged with possession with intent to distribute PCP after police responded to what appeared to be a fight in an apartment. According to charging documents, D.C. police responded to a domestic dispute inside an apartment at 4337 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SW on May 28.

Officers could hear the fight inside the apartment, but the occupants refused to open the front door. Fire officials were called and forced their way inside. Christopher Barry jumped out of a window and escaped, police said.

No one else was found inside the apartment, but police found a bloody entrance, five bags of marijuana and a vial of PCP. The vial contained an amount of PCP “sufficiently more than used for personal use,” document said.

While police were on the scene, Barry returned and was treated for a bloody foot and arrested, police said.

In 2005, Christopher Barry was arrested for an assault on a D.C. police officer, but those charges were dismissed.
