Sure, Rudy Giuliani has had his fair share of romantic dust-ups in his life, but don’t call him unromantic: He interrupted his remarks before the National Rifle Association today to take a phone call from his wife, Judith.

“This is my wife calling, I think,” he told the crowd, as the phone rang. Then, speaking right into the microphone as well as the phone, he said, “Hello, dear. I’m talking to the members of the NRA right now. Would you like to say hello?”
Apparently not, because he then told her, “I love you and I’ll call you when I’m finished,” before ending the call.
“This is one of the blessings of the modern age,” he said, the call now complete. “Being always available. Or maybe it isn’t, I’m not sure.”
Perhaps this is the beginning of an effort by Giuliani to soften his wife’s frosty image?
