Patrick Witt threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns and Jordan Farrell added two rushing scores to lead Yale to a 31-10 win over Georgetown on Saturday.
Farrell, who finished with 91 yards rushing on 17 carries, scored on a 19-yard run to give the Bulldogs (1-0) a 17-3 lead in the second quarter. The Hoyas (0-3) cut the lead to seven points when Paul Sant’Ambrogio returned a fumble 38 yards for a touchdown.
But Witt, who completed 22 of 27 passes, threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to John Sheffield to put Yale ahead 24-10 in the fourth quarter. Farrell gave the Bulldogs more cushion with a 3-yard rushing score.
Isaiah Kempf was 32 of 59 for 332 yards and threw two interceptions for Georgetown. Robert Lane caught 13 passes for 149 yards.
