Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., a Baltimore-based broadcasting company, has joined with eight other U.S. television broadcast groups to form the Open Mobile Video Coalition.

“We believe this technology, if fully implemented, could create an entirety new revenue stream for broadcasters, while providing the public with visible methods to receive their favorite programs when away from home,” David Smith, Sinclair president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
