The financial chief of AmeriCorps ? a federal agency that promotes volunteering ? has been picked as Baltimore City?s new budget chief.
Andrew Kleine, a veteran of government finance, was announced as Mayor Sheila Dixon?s choice to oversee the city?s annual budgeting process.
“I am excited that Mr. Kleine is joining our team. His wealth of experience will assist my administration in making government resourceful and cost-effective,” the mayor said in a statement released Wednesday.
Prior to joining AmeriCorps, Kleine worked as a financial officer for the U.S. Department of Transportation and the White House Office of Management and Budget.
