What: Blessed with the undeserved privilege of choosing a presidential nominee before any other state, the Iowa GOP lost the results for eight precincts. Why it’s dim: This leaves permanent doubt about what otherwise appears to be a narrow win by Rick Santorum over Mitt Romney.
Cure: Fundamental reform of the primaries so they start much later and occur all at once, or nearly so.
