Looking like another big year for SEC

Anyone sick of seeing the SEC win the national championship every year may have to wait for another conference to claim the title.

The SEC — winner of the last six BCS championships — again is dominating the top of the AP poll with three schools in the top five. After wins over fellow top-10 SEC teams, Florida moved up to No. 4 and South Carolina rose to No. 3, while defending national champion Alabama stayed atop the poll.

The Crimson Tide don’t play the Gators or Gamecocks during the regular season, and Florida hosts South Carolina on Oct. 20.

It’s highly likely one of these three teams will escape the SEC with one loss or fewer. And a one-loss SEC team never seems to have a problem getting a national title game bid.

The best chance for the SEC to be left out of the BCS championship game? No. 2 Oregon and No. 5 West Virginia need to run the table and hope teams in the SEC beat each other up.
