Mayor Mayson Foster tells The Daily Star (http://bit.ly/1rogH5G ) the contract with Immediacare began as way to save money on health insurance costs to the city.
The mayor said the service helped him never miss a day of work.
The contract was about $80,000 a year. Foster says the employee paid a $35 visit fee, which paid for the visit and medication or a shot.
When asked if the city would try to find another contractor to help reduce health care costs, Foster said that would be up to the next administration, as he is term limited out of office. A new mayor will take office in January after the Nov. 4 election.
