Redskins linebacker/defensive end Brian Orakpo impressed enough people to land a spot in the Pro Bowl. But not enough to win the Associated Press’ defensive rookie of the year. That honor went, in a landslide, to Houston linebacker Brian Cushing.

Cushing dominated the voting, receiving 39 votes while the No. 2 finisher, Buffalo safety Jairus Byrd, had six.

Orakpo, who finished the season with 11 sacks, was fourth with two votes (Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews was third with three votes).

Cushing finished the regular season with 134 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions.
