A Royle welcome in Boston?

Popular Baltimore sports radio personality Jen Royle heard locally on 105.7 The Fan has emerged as a top candidate for a job back in her beloved hometown of Boston.

In a report that was published in today’s edition of the Boston Globe, she was named as a top candidate to land a job with the New England Sports Network. The report called hiring Royle to return to Boston a “saavy move.”

Earlier this month there were reports that two of Boston’s top all sports station’s WEEI and 98.7 The Hub both had their eye’s fixed on hiring Royle.

In her second year with 105.7 The Fan Royle has done a fine job covering both the Orioles and the Ravens. In some cases doing morning and early afternoon reports from Ravens camp and then running downtown to be part of Baltimore Baseball Tonight the station’s Orioles baseball show.

She was a fixture on MASN last season and is a natural for television.

Royle told me recently that:”The people at CBS Radio have been good to me, as have all the front office people at both the Ravens and the Orioles. I am blessed with some of the best co-workers in the business and add to all of that the wonderful people of Baltimore who have made me feel so very welcome. But like all people I am all about the family and  if good job in Boston would ever open up I would have to look at it. I mean it is my home town and my mom and my family are still live there. It would be like someone being from this area having a chance to return to Baltimore.  So while I am very happy here in Charm City should I get an offer from a station in Boston, well I would really have think long and hard about taking it.”

Royle is expected to continue at 105.7 The Fan covering both the Ravens and the Orioles – as for her moving home to Boston anytime soon well as they say we will keep you posted.
