Lagarde attends Bastille Day party

As newly elected IMF managing director Christine Lagarde settles into her new gig and life in Washington, she’s doing the social rounds. On Tuesday, Lagarde made an appearance at an early Bastille Day soiree at the French Ambassador’s Residence. “She was absolutely mobbed,” a source who attended the party told Yeas & Nays. Moet Chandon was one of the sponsors of the party, ensuring an endless flow of White Star champagne. Also Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was spotted at the French fete. The actual French holiday is Thursday.
