Former President George W. Bush kicked off the 5th Annual Patriot Golf weekend this morning in Dallas, Texas encouraging private donations of one-dollar from golf course members across the country to benefit Folds of Honor Foundation (foldsofHonor.org), which provides post-secondary educational scholarships to spouses and children of injured or killed military personnel.
Bush, who was on Fox and Friends Thursday morning, told co-host Brian Kilmeade, that he would let the “policy guys debate the policy” when it comes to Defense budget cuts but that he would dedicate a large portion of his post presidential life to the plight of veterans.
“I want America to continue to pay attention to our vets,” Bush said. “We’ve got a lot of special people in America, particularly those who volunteered to serve our country in a time of danger.”
