Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is expressing his support for President Trump’s plan to impose further tariffs on Canada.
Schumer retweeted President Trump’s warning to Canada that he plans to impose a tax on imports of specialized milk. “Been fighting for NY dairy farmers on this. Glad to see @POTUS join our fight to change Canada’s unfair policy that undercuts our farmers,” Schumer tweeted.

The New York Democrat joined Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., a ranking Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, to praise Trump’s tougher economic stance against Canada.
President Trump announced Monday evening that his administration would retroactively impose a 20 percent tariff on Canadian softwood lumber.
